Flipkart’s entry into the healthcare sector

Walmart Group’s e-commerce leader Flipkart has now begun operations in the healthcare sector. Flipkart has launched a new app – ‘Flipkart Health Plus’.

More than 500 independent sellers have joined the Flipkart Health Plus platform. These sellers are authorized pharmacists. Prashant Zaveri, Chief Executive Officer, Flipkart Health Plus, said that people in India have recently turned to wellness and good healthcare. This transformation has not been seen before. Essential medicines and healthcare products will now be delivered to every corner of the country through Flipkart Health. Particular attention will be paid to areas where essential medicines are lacking.

This new app from Flipkart is available in Android Playstore and will be available in iOS going forward. Flipkart says that despite this being an intermediary marketplace, the company will conduct various investigations regarding quality and drugs will have to go through the verification protocol.
